Mr. Chaet’s practice is focused on employment litigation.  He has represented employers before government agencies, and in federal and state courts in areas including employment discrimination, wage and hour disputes, wage garnishments, and employment based contracts and torts. 

Mr. Chaet advises employers in compliance matters involving state and federal employment laws, including the Affordable Care Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act, the Americans with Disability Act, and the Illinois Human Rights Act.

Prior to joining Williams, Bax & Saltzman, Mr. Chaet practiced at a boutique business and immigration law firm.  He represented and advised businesses and individuals in a variety of immigration matters including the acquisition of immigrant (EB-5) and non-immigrant investment (E-2) visas.  Mr. Chaet also drafted a winning Seventh Circuit appellate brief that established a precedent in the circuit regarding stays of removal based on abuse of judicial discretion.

Mr. Chaet is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and in the State of Florida. He has been admitted to the federal court in the Northern District of Illinois as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.  Mr. Chaet is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A. 2005) and the DePaul University College of Law (J.D. 2009) where he received the CALI award in Contracts II.
